List of Ingredients
1, 10 pound thawed whole turkey,
...neck and giblets removed
4 crushed garlic cloves
2 tablespoons seasoning salt
1/2 cup butter
2, 12 ounce cans cola flavor soda pop
1 washed apple, cut in 1/4's
1 peeled onion, cut in 1/4's
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon salt salt
1 tablespoon ground black pepperRecipe
Rinse the turkey under cold water, and pat dry.
Rub the garlic over the outside of the bird.
Sprinkle with the seasoning salt.
Place in a medium roasting pan.
Use a bowl to mix together the butter, cola, apple, onion,
garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Place into the turkey's cavity.
Tent the turkey with aluminum foil.
Smoke at 225 to 250 degrees F for 10 hours, or until the
internal temperature reaches 180 degrees when measured
in the thigh meat.
Baste every 1 to 2 hours with the pan juices.
