Creamed Curried Tomatoes, old fashioned
1 28oz. can tomatoes, broken up
3 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. milk
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. curry powder l
Place tomatoes in saucepan and bring to a boil.
Mix flour, sugar, curry powder and salt together;
blend into the milk.
Slowly add to the boiling tomatoes, stirring all
the while.
Cook until smooth and thick enough to spread
on bread, like a gravy.
(When milk mixture is first added to tomatoes it
will curdle, because of the boiling, but keep stirring.)
