Creamed Tomatoes
1 (No. 2 can) can tomatoes (large 28oz. size)
2 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. milk
pinch of salt
curry powder to taste, (1/4 tsp.), optional
Place tomatoes in saucepan with butter and bring to a boil.
Mix flour, sugar, curry powder (if used) and salt together;
blend into the milk.
Add to the boiling tomatoes.
Cook until smooth and thick enough to spread on bread,
like gravy.
(When milk mixture is first added to tomatoes it will curdle,
but keep stirring.)
