Curried Tomatoes, creamed/old time
1, 28 ounce can tomatoes, broken up
3 Tablespoons flour
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
Place tomatoes in saucepan and bring to a boil.
Mix flour, sugar, curry powder, salt and pepper
together;
blend into the milk.
Slowly add to the boiling tomatoes, stirring all
the while.
Cook until smooth and thick enough to spread
on bread, like a gravy.
(When milk mixture is first added to tomatoes it
will curdle, because of the boiling, but keep stirring.)
