Escalloped Tomatoes

3 tbsp. flour
4 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
4 c. fresh or canned tomatoes
3 tbsp. chopped onions
1 tbsp. diced green pepper
2 tbsp. thinly sliced celery
1/2 c. soft bread, cut into small cubes
1/2 c. seasoned bread crumbs
2 tbsp. melted butterRecipe
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 2 1/2 quart baking dish.
Mix together the flour, sugar, salt and black pepper. Set aside.
Mix together the tomatoes, onions, green peppers and celery
in a large mixing bowl.
Stir flour mixture into tomato mixture.
Lightly stir in bread cubes.
Put all into the baking dish.
Mix bread crumbs and melted butter together. Sprinkle on top.
Bake for 45 minutes.
Makes 6 servings.
