Garlic Mustard Peas
3, 9 ounce packages frozen peas
2 slices bacon
3/4 cup thinly sliced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon brown mustard
1/2 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning or 1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
1. Cook frozen peas according to package directions. Drain.
2. Meanwhile, cook bacon in a medium skillet until crisp. Drain,
reserving drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon; set aside. Cook onion and
garlic in drippings over medium heat about 3 minutes or until tender.
Stir in mustard, lemon-pepper seasoning or pepper, and salt. Cook about
30 seconds more. Toss onion mixture with peas. Sprinkle bacon atop peas.
Makes 8 servings.
