4 c. chopped fresh or canned tomatoes
2 tbsp. minced onions
1 tbsp. chopped green peppers, optional
3 tbsp. minced celery
1/2 c. bread crumbs made from soft bread
4 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
3 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. butter
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a baking dish.
Combine the tomatoes, onions, green peppers and celery in a large mixing bowl.
Mix together the flour, sugar, salt and pepper.
Stir the flour mixture into the tomato mixture.
Pour into the baking dish and top with the bread crumbs.
Dot with butter and bake for 45 minutes.
Makes 6 servings.
