Squash Casserole #2
1 1/2 pounds yellow squash
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon granulated white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
1 Tablespoon butter
Cook squash in boiling water 8-10 minutes.
Drain; then mash.
Stir in next seven ingredients.
Spoon mixture into greased baking dish.
Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
Dot with butter.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 35 minutes.
