Tomato Dumplings #1
2 cans of tomatoes, chopped, or tomato preserves
water or chicken broth
1 - 2 onions, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
1 Tablespoon butter
for dumplings:
2 cups flour
3/4 cup milk
Cook tomatoes with 2 cans water, onions, salt, pepper and 1 tablespoon
of the butter. Let boil.
for dumplings:
Mix flour and milk together well.
Drop into tomato mixture.
Cover. Let cook on a low heat for about 30 minutes or more.
Do not open lid!
Note:
I use onions, salt and pepper to taste.
