    venison - Baked Venison Slices

    List of Ingredients

    3 pounds venison roast
    salt and pepper to taste
    garlic
    flour
    oil or shortening
    1 large sliced onion
    1, 28 ounce can whole tomatoes, broken up into pieces
    hot tomato sauce, to your taste
    1 cup water

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 300. Need a roasting pan with a lid.
    Trim the roast of fat and any bad spots. Cut the roast as thin as possible.
    Sprinkle salt, pepper and garlic on both sides of each slice.
    Then flour both sides of each slice.
    Use just enough oil to cover the bottom of a frying pan.
    Heat the oil and then brown the slices on both sides.
    Place the slices in the roasting pan.
    Sprinkle the sliced onion, broken tomatoes, hot sauce and water over the top of the meat slices.
    Bake for about 3 hours or until done/tender.
    Remove the meat and use the sauce for gravy. Thicken, if needed.
    Makes 10 - 12 servings.
