Basic Ice Cream Cake

Recipe Introduction
This is a basic recipe for ice cream cake. You can vary it by using different types of cake and ice cream.
List of Ingredients
- cake (chocolate, vanilla etc).
- ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, butter pecan etc. Use your imagination!)
- extra vanilla icecream to cover cake.
Instructions
- Cut cake in half and divide icecream in half.
- Cover each layer of cake with icecream. You should now have a 4 layered cake. Use a tray that is freezer friendly.
- Slice the cake all the way around, so that the ice cream layer and cake layer are the same size.
- Place cake in the freezer for 1-2 hours until cold.
- When you are ready to frost the cake, remove vanilla icecream from freezer, and let it melt.
- Remove cake from freezer, and cover entire cake with vanilla icecream.
- Return to freezer until ready to serve.
- Remove cake from freezer 10 minutes prior to serving. Slice with a knife heated in hot water.
