Recipe Introduction
This cake is best when cooled. Spread frosting on when it has cooled.
List of Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar ****OR 1/2 cup Splenda + 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup oil
- 2 Tbsp vinegar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups cold water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix all of the above ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir together well.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Frost when cool.
Final Comments
Any frosting would work on this cake, but I used "Marilyn's Frosting." It is an old family favorite and it worked well. Look under FROSTINGS here for that recipe.
