    MOM'S PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

    This is my mother's recipe.


    Recipe Introduction


    The dough is soft, so you can chill it for an hour or so before working with it.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup shortening
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla
    • 1/2 cup peanut butter
    • 1 cup flour


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Cream shortening and sugars together.
    3. Mix in and blend well the vanilla, egg and peanut butter.
    4. Add the flour, salt and baking soda, blend well.
    5. Roll into balls and press down with a fork dipped in water or sugar.
    6. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
    7. Makes about 2 to 3 dozen cookies.
