    TRAILSIDE OATMEAL COOKIES

    From a book called, "Food for Thought"


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 3/4 cup flour
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 cup butter, soft
    • 1/2 cup peanut butter
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1/4 cup milk
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 2 1/2 cups oatmeal
    • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
    • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Sift together flour, soda and salt, set aside.
    3. In a large bowl, beat butter, peanut butter and sugars until creamy.
    4. Beat in eggs, milk and vanilla.
    5. Stir in the flour mixture, then oats, then chocolate chips and nuts
    6. Drop by tablespoons full onto ungreased cookie sheets and place 3 inches apart.
    7. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or until lightly browned.


    Final Comments


    Makes about 3 dozen cookies and the recipe can be doubled.
