Recipe Introduction
These are super simple to make and are delicious right out of the oven!!
List of Ingredients
- 1/2 C water
- 1 1/2 C warm milk
- 1/2 C sugar
- 1 t. salt
- 2 pkgs yeast
- 1/2 C oleo, shortening or butter
- About 6 1/2 C flour
- 2 eggs
Instructions
- combine liquid with sugar salt and yeast. Add 2 C flour and beat 2 min. Add eggs and oleo and beat 1 min more. Mix in another 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 C flour or until dough is not real sticky. Cover and let rise 20 min. Place about 1 C flour on counter top and knead bread mixture until it holds shape. cut and roll into balls about 2" in diameter. place in a greased baking dish (about 12 to a 9X13 pan) and let rise again about 25 min in a warm place. Bake at 325 for about 25 min.
Final Comments
These can also easily be turned into cinnamon rolls. Instead of cutting and rolling into balls, Roll the bread out flat, spread a thick layer of butter or oleo. Sprinkle on cinnamon sugar and rll jelly roll style. Slice about 1 1/2" and lay flat in baking pan and bake for 25 min at 325 or until golden brown.
