    Gran Gran's Chicken And Dumplin's

    List of Ingredients




    Whole Chicken, or chicken Pieces
    4-5 cups flour
    Handful of salt (a few teaspoons)
    Tablespoon or so of milk

    (These are the directions I got from Auntie Bobbie who had the original recipe)

    Place chicken in pot and cover with water. Simmer until chicken is fully cooked. Remove chicken meat from bones and chill a few cups of the broth to make dumplings.

    In large bowl (I do it on the counter top "well style")
    mix flour and salt, adding cooled broth til dough is a rollable consistency. Don't over mix or they will be tough.
    Roll out til a little thinner than 1/4". Cut into strips, and drop into boiling broth. Cook, stirring often til dumplings are done. Add chicken when dumplings are almost done to heat through. Gran Gran always added a little milk at the end for a creamy color. S&P to taste.
