    Recipe Introduction


    Tasty treat,upscale, and oh so sweet


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup butter or margarine softened
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 egg yolk
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 2 cup all -purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • Additional Sugar
    • Frosting:
    • 2 cups (12oz) semisweet chocolate chips
    • 1/2 cup half-and-half cream
    • 2 cups whipping cream, whipped
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • chocolate sprinkles


    Instructions


    1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
    2. Beat in the egg, yolk and vanilla.
    3. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; Gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
    4. Form into a long log; cut into eight equal pieces.
    5. Shape each into a ball; wrap in plastic wrap
    6. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
    7. Roll balls in additional sugar; place between 2 sheets of waxed paper.
    8. Roll each into a 6 in. circle.
    9. Remove top sheet of waxed paper; flip the circles onto an un-greased baking sheet.
    10. Remove waxed paper; prick dough with a fork.
    11. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
    12. Carefullyloosen cookies and cool on paper towles.
    13. For frosting,melt chocolate chips with half-and-half in a heavy saucepan, stirring occasionally.
    14. Cool.
    15. Combine whipped cream and vanilla;fold into chocolate mixture.
    16. Layer cookies, spreading a quarter cup frosting between each layer.
    17. Spread remaining frosting over sides and top.
    18. Decorate with chocolate sprinkles.
    19. Refrigerate over night before cutting.
    20. Yield:6-10 servings
