OK, this recipe can be altered to beef instead of pork and the revision for time cooked meat will follow
List of Ingredients
- 4lbs pork baby back ribs/or beef
- 1 teaspoon fresh minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 medium onion,sliced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1cup chili sauce
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke (hickory flaor)
- 1 tablespoon molassess
Instructions
- For the pork ribs place bone side down in a large roasting pan cut slices in meat just enough to let flavoring seep into it during cooking be sure not to cut through.
- Combine the fresh garlic,salt and pepper in a bowl and gently rub on ribs in the slices you made as well.
- add the onion slices on top , cover tightly with foil and back approx. 2 -1/2 hours.
For the beef follow same rules for basting and marination but only bake for 30 minutes.
- When meat is ready. Drain the fat and then begin to cobine the next ingredients for your sauce.
- In a small bowl combine rest of ingredients.....Baste the meat generously...you can leave onions on the top if desired......
- Place cover back over the top and bake an additional 30 minutes or until the meat becomes tender.....and you will use an oven at 350 degrees...
For beef cook for additional 30 minutes as well
- Serve with or without onions and extra bar b q sauce...
Final Comments
prep is so easy in total for pork bone in ribs you will cook a complete 3 hours and for the beef 1 hour bone out.
