    List of Ingredients


    • 4 onions,chopped
    • 3 tablespoons margarine
    • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon white sugar
    • 3 (10 1/2 oz) cans beef broth
    • 1 1/4 cups water
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
    • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
    • 1 cup white wine
    • 1 french baguette, cut into 1/2 inch slices
    • 8 oz shredded mozerella cheese
    • 1/2 cup parmesean cheese


    Instructions


    1. In a large pot, over medium heat, saute the onions in the margarine for about 10 minutes, or until onions are tender.
    2. Stir in the flour,pepper, and sugar to form an almost pasty like mixture.
    3. Add beef broth,water,parsley and thyme and simmer for about 10 minutes,then add the wine and simmer for 10 more minutes.
    4. Preheat oven to broil.
    5. Toast the baguettes.
    6. Place one slice of bread into each oven safe bowl.
    7. Fill each bowl 3/4 of the way full with soup mixture.cover with mozerella cheese and a sprinkle of parmesean over each bowl.
    8. Place in oven,broil until cheese is melted and bubbly.


    Final Comments


    You can reduce the amount of onions to your likeing.
