    List of Ingredients


    • 5 to 7 potatoes, peeled
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
    • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 2 tablespoons snipped chives
    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
    • 1/4 to 1/2 cup buttermilk
    • 1 tablespoon garlic salt (optional)


    Instructions


    1. Place potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water; add 1 teaspoon of salt.
    2. Bring to a boil.
    3. Reduce heat;cover and cook for about 25 minutes or until potatoes are soft.
    4. Drain.
    5. In a large bowl, mash the potatoes until smooth.
    6. Add cream cheese,butter,chives,pepper, and remaining salt; gradually beat in the buttermilk.
