Grandma's Old Fashioned Applebutter

My mothers baked apple butter. Well worth the effort
Yield for this Ten 6 oz or Seven 8 oz jars
List of Ingredients
5 LB Tart Apples
3 cups of Apple Cider
4 cups of Sugar
3 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp ClovesRecipe
Wash, peel, core, and quarter apples
Bring apples and cider to a boil in a heavy saucepan, reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes
Puree the apple mixture in a food processor or blender
Add sugar and spices to the puree and mix well
Pour Puree into a shallow baking dish and bake at 300 degrees F, for 2 hours or until thick enough to hold its shape
Pour into hot sterile jars and seal
