    Traditional Peanut Butter Cookies

    adapted from 500 Best Cookies, Bars & Squares by Esther Brody

    List of Ingredients




    1 1/4 cups flour
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 cup butter, softened
    3/4 cup smooth peanut butter
    1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 Tbs. vanilla
    3 Tbs. milk

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
    In a small bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and salt.
    In a large bowl, cream butter, peanut and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in egg until incorporated. Mix in vanilla and milk until smooth. Add flour mixture and mix thoroughly.
    Drop by tablespoonfuls about 2" apart, onto a cookie sheet. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on sheet for 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
    Yield: about 3 dozen
