Seven-Layer Casserole

Recipe Introduction
I suggest adding extra water to make sure the rice gets thoroughly cooked.
List of Ingredients
- 1 c Rice, uncooked
- 16 oz Tomato sauce
- 1/2 c Onion, chopped
- 1 lb Hamburger
- 1 c Corn, whole kernel, drained
- 3/4 c Water, divided
- 1/2 c Green pepper, chopped
Instructions
- Saute the hamburger to remove excess fat.
- In a 2 quart casserole layer the ingredients as follows: rice, corn, salt and pepper, 1/2 of the tomato sauce, 1/2 cup water, onion, green pepper, ground beef, remaining tomatoe sauce and water. Cover and bake at 350 for 1 hour.
- Uncover and continue cooking another 25 minutes. A few slices of cheese placed on top adds a nice touch the last ten minutes.
