Recipe Introduction
Old Southern Recipe for punch, must start several weeks ahead. Careful....
List of Ingredients
- 2 Gal Tea (green tea - 1 lb tea to 2 gal water, soaked overnight in tin bucket and strain.
- Juice of 3 doz lemons
- 5 lb Brown Sugar
- 2 gal Catawba Wine
- 2 gal Santa Cruz Rum
- 1 gal Brandy
- 1 gal dry gin
- 1 gal rye wiskey
- 2 qt cherries
- 2 qt pineapple cubes
- 10 qt champagne
Instructions
- Mix the tea with lemon juice, preferably in a cedar tub.
- Add brown sugar and liquors.
- Let the mixture set for at least 1 to 2 weeks in a covered container.
- After setting period and when ready to serve, pour over cake of ice.
- When this is done, add cherries, pineapples cubes, and champagne, pouring in slowly and mixing with circular motion.
- The punch is now ready to serve.
