    Comments: You won't have to wait long for warm, homemade bread when you use this recipe. It is really delicious & actually has a texture more like that of a biscuit. The next time I make it, I am going to try adding some fresh chopped chives or another herb such as basil.

    List of Ingredients




    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tablespoon sugar
    1 tablespoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 cup butter
    3/4 cup milk
    1 egg
    1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated

    Recipe



    Coat a 8" X 4" loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray; set aside.

    Stir flour, sugar, baking powder & salt together. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

    Stir milk & egg into flour mixture: add Cheddar cheese. Stir well & pour batter into prepared pan.

    Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes or until golden brown.

    Yum.

    Yield: One loaf (about 8-12 servings.)
