Recipe Introduction
We dip the whole candy and sprinkle with colored sugar to match the holiday.
List of Ingredients
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
3 tablespoons butter, soft
1 pound melting and dipping chocolate coating*
Recipe
In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, peanut butter, and melted butter and mix with electric mixer until very smooth. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper and let dry for 20 minutes. Melt chocolate coating. Stick each peanut butter ball with a toothpick and dip into chocolate. Remove toothpick. Smooth over hole. Store in a cool, dry place.
*Melting and dipping chcolate coating, which has most of the cocoa butter removed, is preferred by candy makers because it does not require tempering. It is purchased in block and wafer forms. Do not get liquid into this or it will NOT set up! If you want to color the chocolate, add food coloring PASTE not liquid. Or use differnt colored sprinkles or sugars sprinkled on top of candies before they harden.
