These are easy to make and delish!!! Try using Amaretto...
oh, my!!!
List of Ingredients
3 c. crushed vanilla wafers (or more if dough is too wet)
1 c. powdered sugar
3 T. cocoa
3 T. white Karo syrup
1/2 c. rum
Additional powdered sugar
Recipe
Mix well til dough is stiff. (I did this by hand without trouble.)
Put additional powdered sugar in a bowl for rolling.
Powder hands with additional powdered sugar and form into 1" balls. Roll in powdered sugar to coat.
Let dry in open air for 1 hour. (In high humidity, it will take longer & I turned the balls over to dry underneath.)
Store 3 days before eating.
My notes: I used a whole box of vanilla wafers and some from a 2nd box. I used wax paper covered cookie sheets.
AMARETTO BALLS: same recipe, just use Amaretto in lieu of rum. I think I will add some toasted sliced almonds to top of cookie, next time.
