    Pineapple Secrets

    List of Ingredients

    1 c. white sugar
    2 tbsp. cornstarch
    1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple and juice
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. rolled oats
    3/4 c. butter or margarine

    Recipe

    For filling, combine white sugar and cornstarch in small saucepan; add pineapple. Cook over medium heat until thick; set aside.

    Combine flour, brown sugar, soda, salt and oats; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.

    Place half of crust mixture in greased 9 x 13-inch pan; pat down firmly. Spread filling evenly on top; add remaining crust and pat down as firmly as possibly.

    Bake in 400-degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. Yield: 20 bars.
