1 pkg yellow cake mix
2 C quick cooking oats, uncooked
3/4 C oil
1 egg, beaten
12 oz jar caramel ice cream topping
1 C chocolate chips
1/2 C chopped nuts, optional

Recipe



Combine cake mix, oats, oil and egg; spread half of mixture into a greased 13x9 baking dish. Drizzle with caramel topping, sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Crumble remaining cake mix mixture over the top.

Bake for 28-30 mins at 350ºF.

Cut into squares. Makes 18-20 servings

Posted by: rosiepie: This is from Gooseberry Patch "Taste of Autumn" cookbook. These are FABULOUS!!! A definite "keeper". I served them heated up in the microwave with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Also, they would be good with some coconut sprinkled on with the chips and nuts, so I think I will do that next time.
