1 1/2 cups butter
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
1/4 cup Amaretto liqueur
2 cups flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup buttermilk
confectioners' sugar
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 325°F. Grease a 10-inch bundt pan.
In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter. Gradually add the sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the Amaretto.
Combine the flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder. Add the dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk, mixing until evenly blended. Pour into the prepared pan.
Bake for 1 hour and 15 to 20 minutes, until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cake cool in pan for 15 minutes. Remove cake from pan to a rack to cool completely. Dust with confectioners' sugar and serve.
