    Margaret's Allbran Fruit Tea Loaf

    4 oz (100g) allbran cereal or bran buds
    5 oz (150g) caster sugar
    10 oz (275g) mixed dried fruit
    half pint cold tea (black)
    4 oz (100g) self raising flour

    Recipe



    Put allbran or branbuds,sugar and dried fruit into a basin and mix them well together. Stir in tea and leave to stand for 30 minutes.

    Sieve in the flour mixing well, pour mixture into a well greased 2 lb loaf tin.

    Bake in a moderate oven 180 c (350f) gas mark 4 for about 1 hour.

    Turn out of tin immediately and allow to cool.

    Cut into slices and if desired, spread with butter.
