    2 lbs. (6 to 8 medium) peaches, peeled and sliced thin
    1 tbsp. lemon juice
    3/4 cup sugar, divided
    4 tbsp. butter, softened
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg, beaten
    1 cup flour
    1/3 cup milk

    Topping:
    1/3 cup sugar
    1/3 cup flour
    1/3 cup butter

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 375ºF. Toss peaches with lemon juice and 1/4 cup sugar; set aside. Cream butter with remaining 1/2 cup sugar; add vanilla and egg. Mix well. Add small amounts of flour and milk alternately to creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition. Pour into a greased 10" baking dish. Spoon peaches over batter.

    Topping:
    Combine all ingredients to form coarse crumbs; sprinkle over fruit.

    Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.

    Note: Delicious served with ice cream or whipped cream.

    Serves 8 to 10
