Recipe Introduction
"-And ya' serve it with ice cream to cut the sweetness." Clairece, "Steel Magnolias"
List of Ingredients
2 large cans of sliced peaches in heavy syrup (drained, except for a few tablespoons of syrup left)
1 box of yellow cake mix
1/2 to 1 stick of butter
Cinnamon (if desired - to taste)
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 350.
In a cake pan add a few shakes of the cake mix (about a handful or two) and cover with peaches (and that little bit of syrup).
Sprinke a few dashes of cinnamon over the top. Stir the peaches around enough to mix the cinnamon & cake mix into the syrup. You want the syrup to get a bit thicker -- like a 'real' cobbler.
Cover the top with the remaining cake mix, add melted or sliced (either one) butter to the top and sprinkle a bit more with cinnamon.
(Make sure you have enough butter to eventually soak into the entire top of the cake mix. You don't want any powdery stuff later on.)
Bake in the oven and begin checking it at about 30 minutes. When it's brown and bubbly, take it out and let it cool just a bit.
As they say -- serve with ice cream!
