List of Ingredients
1 pound rump or round beef (cut in 1 " cubes)
4 TBS butter
2 cups onions, thinly slice
1 large green pepper, thinly sliced
1 large red pepper, thinly sliced
3 tsp cornstarch
3 TBS cold water
3 bouillon cubes
Tabasco sauce
1 can tomato paste(3 oz)...I don't think our tomato paste comes in that size....just guess about it
2 TBS paprika
1/4 tsp marjoram
1/4 tsp garlic salt
Worcestershire sauce
Recipe
Brown meat in butter, add onions and peppers, saute until golden. Stir in tomato paste, 1 1/4 cups water, paprika, and garlic salt. Simmer for one hour. Add 5 cups water, 3 bouillon cubes and simmer another 30 minutes. Make a paste with cornstarch and the 3 TBS cold water, add to soup, bring to boil, stirring constantly until thickened. Add marjoram and season with salt, Tabasco sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
I didn't have the marjoram so I used parsley. I prefer to use beef broth instead of the bouillon (DH watches his salt) and I have added carrots and lima beans to the soup. I have also done all that simmering in the crock pot. If red peppers are too expensive, two green ones will do.
