PECAN COOKIE MIX IN A JAR

Decorate jar according to season.


List of Ingredients




1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1-1/4 cup old fashioned oats
3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
1 cup Rice Krispies cereal
3/4 cup flour, mixed with 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2
teaspoon baking powder



Recipe



Layer ingredients in order given in a 1-quart jar. Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient.

*ATTACH FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS TO THE JAR:

Pecan Cookies:

1. Empty jar of cookie mix into a large bowl and thoroughly blend ingredients.

2. Add 1 softened stick of butter or margarine, 1 beaten egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix until ingredients are thoroughly blended. Shape into 1" balls and place 2" apart on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.

3. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Cool for 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to racks to finish cooling.
