Candy-dipped pretzel rods (not sticks) is a great quickie idea from Patty MacDowell of Erie, Pa.: "I use vanilla or chocolate candy melts, dipping the pretzel three quarters of the way into the melted candy. Then I shake on whatever theme/holiday sprinkles that I have. For this 4th of July, I used white candy coating, and then I decorated the pretzels three separate ways with: red jimmies, blue nonpareils, and a red/white/blue star mix. I displayed them in a clear vase. For Christmas last year I did the same idea but placed six decorated pretzel rods in a holiday bag tied with ribbon. They made great gifts for my daughter's coaches, teachers, bus drivers, etc."
(My notes: to make a thicker chocolate coating, dip twice then sprinkles.)
