    1 cup long grain converted rice
    one flavor packet, recipes below
    2 tablespoons butter
    2 1/2 cups hot water


    Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Saute rice, stirring constantly until translucent. Just be sure the rice doesn't brown. Slowly stir in water and flavor packet. Bring to a full boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes until nearly all the liquid is absorbed. You want it to look too moist. Cover, turn off hear and let stand 10 minutes.

    Each flavor packet uses bouillon cubes that call for 8 oz. water. If you use the 6 oz. kind or granules/pdr. adjust accordingly.

    Chicken:
    3 chicken bouillon cubes, crushed
    1/4 tsp. dried parsley flakes
    dash onion pdr.
    3 dashes freshly ground black pepper

    Beef:
    3 beef bouillon cubes, crushed
    dash onion pdr.
    dash garlic pdr.
    3 dashes freshly ground black pepper

    Onion:
    2 chicken bouillon, crushed
    1 beef bouillon cube, crushed
    1/4 tsp onion pdr.
    2 tsp. dried minced onion
    3 dash freshly ground black pepper

    Mushroom:
    same as onion only add 2 tablespoons dried mushrooms, minced

    Vegetable:
    3 chicken or beef bouillon cubes, crushed (or a mixture of both)
    1/4 cup dried vegetable flakes
    dash onion or garlic pdr.
    3 dashes freshly ground black pepper

    Curry:
    3 chicken bouillon cubes, crushed
    1 tsp. curry pdr.
    dash white or red pepper pdr., opt.

    Asian:
    3 chicken bouillon cubes, crushed
    1 beef bouillon cube, crushed
    3 teaspoons dried veg. flakes
    2 teaspoons dried minced onion
    dash of ground ginger
    1 tablespoon soy sauce added to cooking water

    Spanish:
    3 chicken bouillon cubes
    2 tablespoons dried green pepper flakes
    2 tablespoons dried minced onion
    1/4 tsp garlic pdr.
    1/4 teaspoon chili pdr.
    1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
    2 tablespoons tomato paste mixed into cooking water
