    Busy Day Individual Meatloaves

    1 lb ground beef
    1/2 tsp salt
    2/3 cup cracker crumbs
    2/3 cup milk
    1 egg, beaten
    3 Tablespoons minced onion
    1/2 tsp dried sage
    1/2 tsp thyme
    1/4 tsp black pepper
    1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

    Sauce:
    2 Tablespoons brown sugar, packed
    1/3 cup catsup
    1/2 tsp garlic salt
    1/2 tsp ginger, optional
    2 Tablespoons soy sauce
    1 tsp dry mustard
    sliced green pepper -- optional

    Recipe



    Crumble beef into large bowl. Add salt. Sprinkle with crumbs and milk. Let stand a few minutes until crumbs are soft. Blend together. Mix in egg and onion, sage, thyme, nutmeg, black pepper, mixing well. Shape into 4 loaves.

    Place on a foil lined baking sheet (WITH edges!) about 3 inches apart. (I find they cook just fine even if they are closer together.)

    Mix together brown sugar, catsup, garlic salt, ginger if used, soy sauce and mustard. Make an indentation in the top of each loaf. Spread mixture over tops of loaves.

    Bake at 350º for 35 minutes.

    Sprinkle with green peppers before serving, if desired. I also mix some of the sauce in with the meat mixture, and use the rest as topping.
