    List of Ingredients




    1 loaf stale bread (18 inches)
    16 oz. egg whites
    2 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 lb. raisins
    6 cups whole milk, scalded
    1/2 lb. butter
    2 Tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 cups sugar

    Recipe



    Combine bread, egg whites, cinnamon, nutmeg and raisins in a baking pan. Scald milk and add butter. When butter has melted, add to pan of bread mixture. Combine vanilla and sugar. Stir well. Pour on top of bread. Stir well to make sure bread is well moistened. Bake at 450 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour.

    Rum Sauce:

    1 3/4 cup water
    1 lb. dark brown sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 Tbsp. rum
    Combine ingredients and heat. Serve over bread pudding.
