HOLLY WREATHS 8-10 min @ 375
1/2 c butter
1/2 pkg cream cheese (3 oz. size)
1/4 c sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 c sifted flour
cream butter and cream cheese, add sugar and cream well then add the vanilla. Slowly add the flour mixing well. Fill cookie press 1/2 full bake on ungreased cookie sheets.
using the star plate hold press in semi-horizontal position to form wreaths by moving press in a circular motion. Gently pinch ends of dough together to form wreaths. Bake. yield 2 doz
CHEESE STRAWS 8-10 mins@375
1 c sifted flour
1/2 tsp bkg powder
1 c grated cheese
1/2 c butter
3 tbsp cold water
sift flour and baking powder into a bowl. cut in cheese and butter with pastry blender. Add water and mix well. form straws on ungreased cookie sheets using the star plate.
VELVET COOKIES 8-10 minutes @ 375
1 c butter or shortening
2 tbsp peanut butter
1 cup confectioners sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
2 c sifted flour
1/2 tsp bkg powder
1/4 tsp salt
cream the shortening & peanut butter. gradually add sugar and cream well. add unbeaten egg and extract. sift flour and baking powder adding to creamed mixture a little at a time. fill cookie press half full and bake on ungreased cookie sheets
yield 5 doz.
DANISH ROYALTIES 8-10 minutes @ 375
1/2 c butter or shortening
1/4 c granulated sugar\
2 egg yolks, hard cooked and mashed
1 tsp almond extract
1 c sifted flour
cream the shortening, add sugar gradually and cream well. add egg yolks and almond extract. add flour slowly, mix thoroughly. Fill cookie press half full. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets.

GINGER SNAPS 12-14 min @ 375
3/4 c each shortening, brown sugar and molasses
1 egg
3 c sifted flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp bkg soda
1/2 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
cream shortening and add sugar gradually. add molasses and egg, mixing well. add sifted dry ingredients blending thoroughly. fill cookie press 1/2 full. bake on ungreased cookie sheets
yield 7 doz.
Recipe
SNOW FLAKES 12-15 min @350
1 c shortening
3 oz. cream cheese
1 c sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. orange rind
2 1/2 c sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
cream shortening and cheese, add sugar gradually and continue beating.
Beat in egg yolk, vanilla and orange rind.
Stir flour with cinnamon and add to creamed mixture.
Decorate with colored sugar , cinnamon sugar or chopped almonds.
Remove at once from sheets and cool on wire racks. 6-7 doz.
Quick mix spritz 10-12 min. 375
2 ¼ c flour
¾ c sugar
¼ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 c shortening
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. With pastry blender cut shortening into dry ingredients till consistency of fine lumps. It will resemble pie crust or biscuit mix though not as coarse.
Measure the egg in a measuring cup. A large egg will measure ¼ c. If it does not add water to the ¼ cup line.
Add egg and vanilla to the mixture and beat well. Remove from sheet at once.

Vanilla cookies 8-10 min 375
½ c shortening
1 c sugar
2 eggs , beaten
1 tbsp. cream
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp nutmeg
2 ¼ c sifted flour
¼ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
cream shortening and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs, cream and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture ,mixing well.
Bake -yield 4 doz
