“Sweet and delectable Hershey’s® Chocolate Syrup, is rich, sticky, and darkly sweet. It has wonderful uses for everything on the planet from ice cream topping to cakes and cookies, to cocktail drinks, and of course, chocolate milk. It can be a bit expensive sometimes, so this recipe will show you a way to make it yourself and save some cash.”
List of Ingredients
1/2 cup Hershey’s® powdered cocoa
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
dash of salt
Recipe
1. Combine the cocoa, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Slowly add water while stirring and mixing, until the ingredients become smooth.
2. When all of the water has been stirring in, begin to heat the ingredients over medium heat. Be sure to continue stirring to prevent sticking and burning.
3. Allow the mixture to come to a boil, still stirring well. Be careful, as it has a tendency to try and boil over. Let it boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat.
4. Set the pan aside and allow to cool. While it cools, add the vanilla and stir well until it is all evenly incorporated into the syrup. Transfer the syrup to an air-tight container (preferably with a spout for pouring) and close tightly. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
