    Spiced Pita Chips

    Source of Recipe

    internet

    List of Ingredients

    1 bag pita bread
    1/3 - 1/2 cup olive oil
    1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder (or garlic salt)
    1/2 tsp ground cumin
    1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper
    salt to taste

    Recipe

Preheat the oven to 375ºF. Cut the pita into 8 - 10 pieces, like a pizza, and set them aside. Put the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, ground cumin, cayenne pepper and salt to taste in a large mixing bowl. Put the pita triangles right in the bowl and toss 'em around until they're well coated. Arrange them on a baking tray, no more than 1 deep, and pop them into the oven. They’ll take about 20 minutes to crisp up, just make sure to stir them around 3 - 4 times while that's happening. Check them to see if they need a little more salt after they’re out of the oven but still warm. They’ll crisp up as they cool.

HINTS: Make up your own spice combination and feel free to use more cayenne if you like a spicier chip! Use 'em to dip hummus or salsa or crumble them up and use 'em on salads instead of croutons! Makes about 50 chips
