    Williamsburg Lodge Corn Chowder

    4-5 slices bacon, diced
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 rib of celery, chopped
    1 1/2 cups potatoes, diced
    2 cups chicken broth
    2 cups cream style corn
    1 cup frozen corn
    2 cups milk, divided
    1/4 cup butter
    3 tbsp flour
    salt and pepper to taste

    Fry bacon until brown. Add onion and cook over medium heat 5 minutes, stirring often. Add celery, potatoes, chicken stock and 1 cup water and cook until potatoes are done. Add cream style corn and frozen corn and heat 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Heat 1 3/4 cups of milk and butter in separate pan over medium heat. Add flour to the 1/4 cup milk and blend. Add to milk mixture on stove and cook until mixture thickened. Add to soup, and salt and pepper to taste.

    Serves 6
