    Posted by: starshineeliz: Here is the recipe that some of you guys asked for at Thanksgiving...this was very good...the only thing Theresa did differently is put a Ritz Cracker topping on it instead of the bread crumbs* just because that was her preference.

    List of Ingredients




    2 Tbsp Butter
    1 cup chopped onions
    4 cups small broccoli florets
    1/2 cup mayo
    1 can cream of celery soup
    2 cups grated sharp white cheddar (Cabot)
    Salt and Pepper
    1 to 2 tsp garlic powder
    1 1/2 cups dry bread crumbs *see note*
    2 Tbsp butter, melted

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350ºF. Coat a 1 1/2 qt casserole with nonstick cooking spray.

    Melt the butter in a saute pan over medium heat and cook the onion, stirring,until soft but not brown, 3 or 4 min. Add the broccoli, cover the pan, and cook until crisp tender, about 4 min. Let cool slightly. In a large bowl, combine the mayo, soup and cheese. Stir in the broccoli mixture. Add Salt and Pepper to taste. Add garlic powder to taste. Pour into prepared casserole.

    In a small mixing bowl, combine breadcrumbs and melted butter and sprinkle on top of the casserole. Bake until it is bubbling and breadcrumbs are golden brown, about 35
    minutes.

    Use Ritz Cracker topping instead.
