WITH A SMALL BISCUIT CUTTER REMOVE THE CENTERS OF BREAD SLICES AND PUT CENTERS ASIDE FOR SERVING AS TOASTED CUTOUTS. THE SLICES WITH THE HOLES IN THE MIDDLE ARE BUTTERED ON BOTH SIDES, THEN INTO A HOT FRYING PAN. DROP-SLIDE AN EGG INTO EACH HOLE; QUICKLY BROWN. TURN AND BROWN TOPSIDES. TIME: ABOUT 2 MINUTES. THE EGGS WILL BE SOFT IN THE CENTER AS IF POACHED, BUT WILL HAVE A FRIED LOOK.
