    1 TSP. BAKING SODA
    1 TSP. SALT
    1 C. BUTTER, SOFTENED
    3/4 C. SUGAR
    3/4 C. FIRMLY PACKED BROWN SUGAR
    1 TSP. VANILLA
    2 EGGS
    1 (12 OZ. PKG.) (2 CUPS) CHOCOLATE CHIPS
    1 C. CHOPPED NUTS

    PREHEAT OVEN TO 375 DEGREES. IN SMALL BOWL, COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING SODA AND SALT, SET ASIDE. IN LARGE BOWL, COMBINE BUTTER, SUGAR, BROWN SUGAR AND VANILLA EXTRACT, BEAT UNTIL CREAMY. BEAT IN EGGS. GRADUALLY ADD FLOUR MIXTURE, MIX WELL. STIR IN CHOCOLATE CHIPS AND NUTS. SPREAD INTO GREASED 15X10X1 INCH BAKING PAN.* BAKE AT 375 DEGREES FOR 20 MINUTES.

    *NOTE: FOR 1 (6 OZ.) PKG. RECIPE MAY BE DIVIDED IN HALF. SPREAD INTO GREASED 13 X 9 X 2 INCH BAKING PAN. BAKE FOR 12-15 MINUTES. MAKES 24 SQUARES.
