BROWN GROUND BEEF IN HOT SHORTENING IN SKILLET; DISCARD EXCESS FAT. PUT ALL INGREDIENTS IN SLOW COOKER; STIR THOROUGHLY. COVER AND COOK ON LOW 6-8 HOURS (OR HIGH 3-4 HOURS) SPOON INTO SPLIT, WARMED HAMBURGER BUNS OR SERVE OVER MASHED POTATOES, NOODLES OR RICE.
