Praline Chocolate Devils Food Cake

This recipe came from the Busy Corner restaurant in Goodfield, Illinois.
List of Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1 pkg. Devils Food cake mix
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1/3 cup oil
- 3 eggs
Instructions
- Melt butter; add brown sugar & stir until dissolved.
- Add 1/4 cup whipping cream & pecans.
- Divide into 2 round cake pans and set aside.
- Beat cake mix, water, oil & eggs for 2 minutes on low, then 2 minutes on high speed.
- Spoon batter over praline mixture.
- Bake @ 325 degrees for 35 minutes or until done. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pans.
- Whip remaining whipping cream and add powdered sugar & vanilla.
- Spread whipping cream between layers (praline sides up)and on top of cake.
- Cover and refrigerate.
Final Comments
Garnish with chocolate curls or nuts, if desired.
