    Recipe Introduction


    This was an Alabama family's private recipe given to Imogene. This is one of Nannie's all time favorite cookies. Both Grandma Emma & Grandma Pearl loved them, too.


    List of Ingredients


    • 12 eggs
    • 5 sticks butter
    • 6 cups flour
    • 2 1/2 cups sugar
    • 1 tsp. alspice
    • 1 tsp. cinnamon
    • 1 tsp. cloves
    • 2 1/2 lbs. candied cherries
    • 2 1/2 lbs. candied pineapple
    • 5 lbs. whole pecans
    • 5 oz. Whiskey


    Instructions


    1. Mix all ingredients except fruit and nuts.
    2. Transfer to large pan and stir in fruit and nuts.
    3. Drop on greased cookie sheets.
    4. Bake @ 350 degrees until brown.


    Final Comments


    Makes 17 dozen small cookies. They are great for Christmas. Recipe can be reduced. Store in a dry, tight container. Freezes well.
