Easy Red Velvet Cake

List of Ingredients
- 1 Pkg (18 1/4 ozs) German chocolate cake mix with pudding
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 oz red food coloring
- 3 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- VANILLA CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1/4 cup softened butter
- 2 Tbl sour cream
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 16 oz powdered sugar
Instructions
- FOR CAKE: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease & flour 9x13 cake pan.
- In large mixing bowl combine cake mix, sour cream, eggs, water, vegetable oil, food coloring, cocoa powder and vanilla.
- Mix on low speed until ingredients are just moistened. Scrape sides of bowl. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
- FOR FROSTING: Combine all frosting ingredients in medium mixing bowl and beat until smooth and combined. (Frosting is quite thick, so a little milk added will help thin it down)
